You'll learn words like 'рака' (river), 'возера' (lake), and 'пушча' (primeval forest). Belarus is known for the Белавéская пу́шча (Białowieża Forest), the last remaining lowland primeval forest in Europe, home to the зубар (European bison).
У геаграфічным кабінэце — In the Geography Room
'Настаўнік' means teacher. 'Вучань' means student/pupil. 'Чуў' is the masculine past tense of 'чуць' (to hear).
Настаўнік: Сёньня мы гаворым пра геаграфію Беларусі. — Today we are talking about the geography of Belarus.
Вучань: Якія рэкі ёсць у Беларусі? — What rivers are there in Belarus?
Настаўнік: Галоўныя рэкі — Дняпро, Заходняя Дзвіна і Нёман. — The main rivers are the Dniapro, the Western Dvina, and the Nioman.
Вучань: А якое самае вялікае возера? — And what is the biggest lake?
Настаўнік: Найбольшае возера — Нарач. Яно вельмі прыгожае. — The largest lake is Narach. It is very beautiful.
Вучань: Я чуў пра Белавескую пушчу. Там жывуць зубры? — I heard about the Białowieża Forest. Do bison live there?
Настаўнік: Так! Белавеская пушча — гэта старажытны лес. Там жывуць зубры. — Yes! The Białowieża Forest is an ancient forest. Bison live there.
