Dative Singular Endings 📖
Masculine and neuter nouns take the endings -у or -ю in the dative singular. • Hard stems → -у: брат → брату, горад → гораду • Soft stems → -ю: настаўнік → настаўніку, конь → каню
Дай брату. — Give to the brother.
Скажы настаўніку. — Tell the teacher.
Feminine nouns have three patterns based on stem type: • Цьвярдая (hard) → -е: мама → маме, сястра → сястре • Мяккая (soft) → -і: зямля → зямлі • Зацьвярдзелая (hardened) → -ы: мяжа → мяжы
Дай маме. — Give to mom.
Скажы сястры. — Tell the sister.
