The accusative plural depends on whether the noun is animate or inanimate: Inanimate nouns — Acc. plural = Nom. plural: • Я бачу сталы. (I see tables.) • Яна чытае кнігі. (She reads books.) • Мы мыем вокны. (We wash windows.) Animate nouns — Acc. plural = Gen. plural: • Я бачу братоў. (I see brothers.) • Яна кліча сяброў. (She calls friends.) • Мы ахоўваем зуброў. (We protect bison.) This is the same animate/inanimate distinction as in the singular, but now applied to plurals!
